I have barely touched Blender in the last half year but since it's December it's time for the yearly Christmas render. Need something for a Christmas card :)
So I started with this, but ended up changing the concept.
This was version 14:
I think that for a printed card I'm as good as finished, now I need to make something animated. Maybe the gingerbread man can do a little dance, or cheer. The deer could blink or turn his head. The lights could flicker of course.

and a great idea for a Gif to send via text or email to loved ones afar.
The first version of the GIF! I'm not too happy about the compression, there are some weird red areas around the eyes of the gingerbread man. So far I like the rest of it.
The problem with GIFs is, that you only get a palette of 256 colors per frame..( not even considering the compression) ..the gingerbreadman alone probably has more colors already...this is why I only use flat shading in mine :)
