Hi,
This is the first time that i post something in a topic. I just digested the topolgy course and i am now following the light course of Jonathan lampel. This is my bedroomlight exercise.
@jlampel What do you think of my night scene?
And this is the Eevee bedroom render.
@jlampel or anyone :-)
i just read that interesting article about the limitations of Eevee. Is there some improvement in Eevee with blender 2.93.5 LTS?
If it is, wich article can i read that explains it the best? For now definitely i will use cycles as a beginner, but interesting to experiment with it along the way.
Nice work with these @stefblender ,
I love the green tint in the night time render.
When choosing between Eevee and Cycles to render your project, Eevee can give some great results, however Cycles will produce more physically accurate renders than Eevee.
Have a read of the Render Section of the Blender Manual to help understand how Eevee and Cycles differ.
Getting the great results with Eevee is possible, I would suggest Kent's Create Realistic Industrial Environment with Blender and Eevee course and the one your on now Fundamentals of Digital Lighting.
Understanding how to use the light probes and the indirect lighting settings under the render properties tab in Eevee is the key to producing the great results.
Happy Blending!
Great work on those renders! I'd say those are looking really good :)
I just read that interesting article about the limitations of Eevee. Is there some improvement in Eevee with blender 2.93.5 LTS?
Good question! It was about time that article got an update, so I just went through and added notes about where Eevee has improved since then. Cycles vs. Eevee - 15 Limitations of Real Time Rendering in Blender 2.8 - CG Cookie
Thnx a lot @jlampel
My next bold question: when are you going to update the Eevee section in the course? I liked how you explained and tried to match the differences between cycles and eevee. 😁
Having so much fun with the lightinmg course of @jlampel .
some lightings of the head... the red light is from a taillight :-))
Thanks, I'm so glad you're having fun with it! Fun results :)
When are you going to update the Eevee section in the course?
As far as I know, there's nothing mentioned in the course that's changed enough that it needs updating. There have been a few minor additions (like separate controls for diffuse, specular, volume) and fixes (like volumes working correctly with the size of a light) but that's about it. It hasn't been that long 😅 Is there something you've found that needs clarification?
Ah no :-) not in particular then :-). Btw! I see blender 3.0 is going to be a major overhaul on cycles as well. And i heard great things of k cycles x (good results with denoiser). So definitely looking forward to that as well.
Followed along with the shaders course of @jlampel and made some old copper with erosion.
