Hey all, I got recommended to make a thread to track my progress along this journey, so far I don't really got anything to be too proud of but hopefully I can look back on this stuff later on and be proud at how far I've come
Attached my Low Poly Rocket, I'm not too sure if that counts because I was just following along mostly, but the animation is still nice.
I just finished the Modeling a SciFi Crate video, and i went ahead and tried to do something on my own, honestly I don't like it very much but I figured I'd drop it here anyways
I'll keep posting (hopefully better) stuff as I go
Great job ggabrieljim ,
I would complete the course first, there maybe some extra tips and tricks to learn. Then you will be better placed to start your own work.
They say you shouldn't run before you can walk, but its up to you. We are here to help if you need us.
I will look forward to seeing whatever comes next π
ggabrieljim The animation is already looking great π! With the knowledge of the Β Low Poly Rocket CourseΒ it will look even better!Β
ggabrieljim That's a great startππ! Keep up the good work π!
PS: I would just add your user name to the thread title so that it's easily distinguishable in the "Blender Discussions" forum π.
ggabrieljim You're quickly improving your Blender and modeling skills π! I'm looking forward to your next creation π!
@adrian2301 Got it! I'll go for the husky first of all then, god that's gonna take a while hahah but I'll do my bestΒ
duerer Thanks a lot!! I'll post the doggy here when it's done
First attempt at the husky, very much doesn't look like a dog
Guess I'll start over coz yeah looks not good
I'm over the self hate phase lol, it isn't perfect but not that long ago making a dog seemed outright impossible, just the fact that that feels different now is progress, so yay
ggabrieljim you've made great progress, and should be proud of how much you achieved in a short time.
Your Husky so far looks ok, I think what's missing is maybe a body and legs π
Seriously though, it's coming on nicely, just the bridge of the nose is a little narrow, The area around the eyes needs shaping better, so the eyes look further back in the head. I think the eye position is fine, the area around the eye needs to come out more, the eyebrow area for example. Push and pull some verts to give you a smoother flow, less bumpy. Try and keep the edges fairly evenly spaced, so all your quads are a similar size, except where you define detail of course.
Remember, its ok to delete it and start over if your really not happy, if you can see what's wrong you can prepare to avoid the same issues with the next attempt.
Keep it up your doing great.
Thanks a lot Adrian! I'll try reshaping the eyes and the bridge of the nose, and thanks for the encouragement, I'm working on the body now, can't wait to have this one finished
Finished my husky, it's not perfect, but I'm proud of getting to model something like this regardless, it really seemed impossible but here we are now, can't wait to keep improving
Big work opportunity ahead of me so imma have to put blender aside for a little bit to focus on studying for certain interview, a week or two and I'll be back on this grind, it's been fun so far and I'm sure it'll stay that way
Your always welcome here at CG Cookie, You have made great progress, looking forward to your return and continuing on to greatness.Β
In the mean time good luck with your interview π
