Will there be an updated version of Red Nelb?

@waylow I've heard only smarties have the answer,

so I'm expecting you to know the answer.

I'm using v2.92 of Blender and when linking or appending Red Nelb or opening any of the .blend files , blender crashes.

I currently have a scene with Melvin as the sheriff, the Wrangler as a gun slinger, Red Nelb was to be a drunk in the saloon.

I might have to throw him in jail.

Or is there a fix I'm not aware of?

Or am I just not a Smartie?

Hi Adrian, try updating Blender ;)

It must be some bug in 2.92, because 2.93 and 3.0 (and even 2.91) have no problem opening the .blend or Appending the Red Nelb Collection.

The official Release of 2.93 is expected May 26th, so the Beta version you can download now is pretty much release ready....(it is a LTS, so updates and bug fixes will keep happening during the coming two years...)

if you remove the armature it works so it had to be the armature. I methodically kept removing bone after bone until it worked on 2.92. Got through all the bones and still no go. The only thing left for me to remove was the subsurf modifier that was attached to the armature some how and TAH DAH!

EDIT: I couldn't find a normal way to remove the modifier. I ended up making a new armature and merging Reds rig into the empty one with CTRL+J. That removed the modifier stack. I had to recreate the "rid id" property under the armatures custom properties (this makes the script work to turn the control layers on and off) Then remake the bone groups. Seems to work as it did before...hopefully I didn't break anything further.  Adrian I sent that off to you until Wayne probably tells us there was a checkbox somewhere that fixes it haha.

    Thanks guys.

Good to know it works fine in future versions spikeyxxx .

I'm not using Red for any animation, but I just need to pose him for a render.

What you sent phoenix4690 should be good for now.

Haha The elusive checkbox strikes again.
