COLLAB2021 - WIP - noonespecific

Collaborations

This is for the accessories team. Item F (Vase B) Very basic blockout for now, but I will have more time this week for more detail.

I lied. I made some quick adjustments to smooth over texture seams

noonespecific, nice vase.  And, congratulations on completing the project.  I have posted your latest image above (smooth over the texture seams) in the blog.  If you would prefer for me to use another money shot, please post a new render and comment me in your WIP.  I'd be happy to update it on the blog.

noonespecific I join splat21 's congratulations to your finished project 😀!

    Just two footnotes:

    1) Do I see it right right that your final meshes (vase and spice cone) are in file WIP_acc_vase-B_noonespecific_00.blend named Vase C. spice 1 and Vase C.001 ? So, you could save a version 01 of your WIP file to Google Drive with only these two objects:

    2) You need to upload your vase texture to Google Drive folder SPICE-VENDORS-HOUSE\TEXTURES\ACCESSORIES\ACC_STANDALONE and change the relative path in your file to that location. Currently it's set to \..\H:\George's Stuff\CG Cookie Collab 2021\CAD models\Textures\ on your local harddisk. Therefore the vase looks pink when I opene file WIP_acc_vase-B_noonespecific_00.blend.

Oh shoot I didn't upload it.... I just uploaded it and I believe I correctly changed the relative path for the textures. I can check back  this evening. That Vase C... I'm not sure why it's there. That's not my work, but just in case, I just unchecked and hid it in the file in case they need it. Mine is clearly labeled as "Vase_b" underneath the folder "MASTER-acc_vase-b_noonspecific"

noonespecific I've updated the relative paths to the "Color Texture" and the "Normal Texture" of your Vase B, but I couldn't find the "Cavity Map" with your username:

Way to finish strong noonespecific! My initial reaction is that it's noticeably lower resolution than other vases. But then I realized that it's appropriately optimal for the final assembly, where the others aren't so much. So my hat's off to you for prioritizing efficiency. It looks great in the assembly:

I made subtle tweaks to reflectivity and added a randomization component to the spice pile so every duplicate is a different color. Really nice work this month! Thanks for joining the collab. It's been a pleasure working with you 🤝

  • noonespecific replied

Oh Shoot, I forgot to put my username in the Cavity map. It's just called Vase_B_Cavity.png

  • noonespecific replied

If you like, I can put it in as my username, but I don't know if that would break anything at this point.... it looks like it was found?? Whatever you need, just let me know

  • noonespecific replied

Thank you for your kind words! I really appreciate that. It has also been a pleasure!

noonespecific Your vase is looking great on the crate 😀👍! I very much enjoyed having you in our team 😀!

PS: Since the "Cavity Map" is found by Blender I wouldn't rename it unless @theluthier decides to do so.
