pressing f6 only jumps to the last command line/ function you use, if i enter edit mode then pressing f6 only gives me the option of toggling edit mode. If you move the object out of edit mode via the x,y,z axis arrows it allows you to re-enter translate. was confused for a second thought f6 always would bring you that menu of translate but it doesn't. currently using blender 2.75
