Zack's Polybook

Just started last week with Blender Guru's Donut tutorial. Finished that and moved on to CGCookie's rocket tutorial. I've definitely caught the bug. :) I've signed up for the group project in April and I'm looking forward to that!

Easily my longest and most challenging project yet. I had a lot of fun with this and feel like I gained a lot of confidence in mesh modeling. I really had to scope this so I didn't end up going off and modeling every little thing in my room, but I'm very pleased with the finished product, even if there are always more things I want to tweak, fix, and add.

Hi Zack, and welcome to CGCookie!  You have some great work so far, pretty decent understanding of materials is the first thing I see.  Your modeling is pretty solid, too!  Keep going!

I "finished" my shark from the sculpting lesson and.. whoof sculpting is seriously challenging. I had a very frustrating time with this and there's definitely a lot than can be addressed, but I just had to get up and walk away at some point. Anyway, gonna cut myself some slack on this one as my first sculpt!

No tutorial this time! Just a 1-afternoon modeling job. The plate rubber texture is from Nikola3D on DeviantArt, the wood texture is from Poliigon, and the rubber flooring is from a search engine image search. I followed this Simmer3D tutorial for the knurling. I think I want to come back to these plates in the future and try to make some more realistic ones, but for the timeframe I gave myself I'm pleased with the result.
