I'm stuck on the part of the modeling and texturing and shading a treasure chest in blender course from CG Cookie where he bevels the wood planks. When I bevel my treasure chest the top looks fine when I switch to object mode but not so mush on the bottom. and I made sure to spit all the wood planks from the treasure chest still did not bevel right please help. You had double Vertices before bevelling. This is what it looks like now:
The outside corner points are actually 4 Vertices:
What probably happened, is that you extruded the sides with E and canceled immediately. Although it looks like nothing has happened, you created extruded Faces that didn't move and thereby double Vertices. When you then try to bevel this happens:
I think the best thing to do here is to start over (with the problematic planks) and pay attention to what you do. Any other method of trying to fix this will be a lot more work (because you'd have to do each plank individually then).
