in the video (Using Light Textures, Cookies, and Gobos), jonathan's orb is clearly white, but mine only shows up grey. i have tried to imitate all the settings i can see and think of, but grey is all i get. here is a screenshot:
thx, julian
thanks, yes i have tried changing exposure and that didn't work. but if i boost the point light to about 75w the orb does start to look white. what i was trying to do was find out how you got yours to look white with the default light settings. the reason i want to know is that very often if i am not getting the same as the instructor is getting it means i am doing something wrong, possibly significantly so. hence my efforts to follow along as closely as i can.
Can you post an example of how increasing the exposure doesn't work? It should have the same effect as boosting the point light strength if it's the only light in the scene. You could try increasing or decreasing the world background strength after that to get the ambient light to match if need be.
i will try to get back to lighting matters once i have spent some time on rendering. if i am still stuck i will post an example of the problem.
thanks, julian
