Hello. Is there a difference between:
Insetting a face and
Extrude (leave the Transision as is) and scale down the newly created loop?
It seems to me that's the same thing.
Will I expect surprises later on because eventually internal processing is different as it seems to be now?
While the Extrude Tool is a macro consisting of duplicate an Edgeloop and moving it in a second step,
Inset could be also a macro consisting of duplicate an Edgeloop and scaling it in a second step?
Is my assumption right?
Thank you.
Of course, the "Last Operator Panel" offers you some settings to manipulate a face extrusion easily in one place and pressing "CTRL" during the "Inset" operation allows extrusions into the depth.
PS: Ich habe nicht mit einer Antwort auf Deutsch gerechnet 😉 (engl.: I didn't expect an answer in German 😉).
