First pumpkin attempt, I'm actually reasonably happy with it, may end up being the final.

and simple shading node setup for the skin ,

    flesh,

    and stem,

add some lighting and quick render,

next I will work on the scene for my pump'n pumpkin.

Here's Pump'n Pumpkin, Mafianiac enforcer. With his pump action shotgun, ready to wreak havoc amongst the tombstones.

    Final scene almost done.

    And here it is....

    and some of the assets...

I was pleased with the cigar, a simple shape but the node setup just came together, this would normally take me a good couple of hours fiddling around and I'm still not 100%, but I must be improving, 15 minutes and I was happy.

Probably not the most efficient setup but it works.

Looks okay to me, apart from one tiny thing; can you actually see the difference between a Detail size of 16 and a Detail size of 2 or 3 in this set-up? (Top left Noise Texture!), especially since you mix it in at only about 20%...

Just asking, because usually the difference between a Detail of 2 or 3 and of 16 is hardly noticeable, but  16 is a LOT more computational expensive...(Detail is the most expesive setting in the Noise Texture!)

People do this a lot: just sliding the Detail up to max...'more is better'...Well, I've got an old computer, so I have to be careful ;)

If it works here for you that's great, just be aware of this, in case you get more complex node set-ups ;)

Your right spikeyxxx , when I added the noise texture, 2 was not nearly enough so I ramped it right up to 16. I just tested it and got it down to 5 before it had a noticeable difference from 16.

This is one of those tricks learnt by watching @theluthier , a noise texture to influence the vector. Never needed to use it before, glad I was paying attention in class.

Yeah, that's indeed a brilliant trick!
