I'm in, Wes, don't have a lot of time, as I need to finish some DOG parts, but the idea is to make something that is a combination of :
,
and
This is going to be so much fun ;)
But like I said, the DOG comes first.
I think I've got the main modelling done... this will depend highly on the lighting, so I tried some things and came up with this:
not yet perfect, but not that bad either I think...
Anyway: got to get the lighting right before making the Shaders...when there is still time left after that I can perfectionize(that's not a word , I think) the model itself...
A test render...trying out a scene..
Lighting is sooo difficult :) but I guess it's not too bad at the moment.
Will have to exaggerate skin details when putting it in "heavy water"...
Let's see if I can get the "stretched" look of the butternut back, which is ruined by the IOR ;) Need some trick there...
And of course the wood is in the wrong direction at the moment, but that's an easy fix :)
Here's a fast 8 samples render...fixed some issues... made the head float more,... moved it more down toward one third... lowered the top of the glass jar, to compensate for that... added a shelf above...
I'll give it a proper render over night and see what I think about it tomorrow :)
With more samples the Bump is too strong and the skin looks like that of a dried out apple...
not what I was going for :)
I'll give it one more go with reduced Bump and Roughness and hope I dialed them in correctly ;)
I'll leave the rest the way it is.
Final image, will post it in the Gallery as submission:
If there weren't a deadline I'd be tweaking this a lot longer, but I'm pleased with the result as it is.
I really like this, putting it in the glass jar was a great idea, really added the creepiness.
