How to erase the lines ?

I've got a really dumb question. I've been concentrating so much on this course that my brain appears to  have fried so many apologies in advance.

At 0:30 (ish), a line is erased from the overlay. The only way I can seem to do that is by using "erase alpha" but  I don't believe that is what is happening in the video.  How is the line erased in this case ?  I am sure we did that earlier in the course, but I cannot find it in the videos.

Thanks and apologies again

Ah good catch, it is using Erase Alpha! You don't see me switch because Blender automatically knows to use that if you are using a pen tablet and flip the pen over and draw with the eraser.

@jlampel - Ah I see. I'm using my iPad as a tablet and it hasn't got that functionality. At least I now know I was on the right track with "erase alpha". When I have done the sculpting tutorial, I am going to decide whether I should buy a dedicated graphics tab or stick with my iPad.
