Carter's Polybook

Here lies the beginning of my journey into modeling. Like most people, starting from scratch, but hoping to change that as soon as I can!

I'm guessing the image doesn't appear yet because it needs to be moderated or something, but if it ever does, I made a couple slight changes to the base crate project for a bit more practice. I extruded the box under the latch to make it look like there was a part of the box that the latch went into and I changed the latch itself into another handle. Who wants to grab onto the sides of things?

Day 1 progress on the low poly room assignment. Honestly pretty pumped with the progress.

First solo project done! I might go back to work on it at some point as I had some ideas for lighting/flooring/maybe textures, but part of learning is eventually moving on. It was fun while it lasted!

Made two sharks for the sculpting tutorial to make sure I could do it on my own. Can't finish the assignment though because my file sizes are too big... and I'm not sure if i'm committed enough to figure out ways to reduce 5mb of polycount. Realistically I could do a bigger remesh and redo the fins/other parts that get messed up but I'm fine with missing out on the 8xp haha.

Day one progress of recreating Spelunky 2 steam art. The background rocks are SUPER rough because I just wanted to get something out for a results picture. Before fixing the rocks, though, I think I am going to try making the other face in the wall, a dog, and a cartoon person which I really think will push me (or look terrible). As you might be able to tell, the face started as suzanne LOL

Much better framing + Monty LOL
