I'm continuing another character from the Outwitters theme in loving memory of the game. This is the Runner unit on the Adorables team. He's a cute snake that can move 5 spaces, but only has 1 hp and a 1 damage attack. A good scout unit or base striker for quick hit and run game play.
I printed him after some struggle (3 failed print attempts) and learned that tapered cylinders make terrible keys to connect pieces lol, but live and learn. It was printed on an FDM printer (Bambulab A1). The body was printed in their hot pink and pink glow-in-the-dark PLA. Check out the glow in the dark pics to see the cool effects!
In the end he looks "Adorable" sitting atop his frosted sprinkle hill.
I'll share some wips of the print process and assembly including the glue that I have fallen in love with for connecting PLA parts. It's better than any super glue I have found locally.
These are so cool! I'm having trouble with my overhangs looking like wavy noodles where the supports were. I've tried adjusting the speed, nozzle temp, number of outer walls, supports and interface settings, infill type...so many things at this point, and I can't get results like your's. Any tips, specifically for the Bambu slicer settings you'd be willing to share?
Yeah for sure we can chat more. I like using my 0.2mm nozzle whenever I can to help it along, but I have to use the 0.4mm nozzle on certain filaments like the PLA Glow.
Come catch me on the discord and send me a DM (I go by blanchsb) and just remind me of this convo and I can send one of my bambu slicer files over for you to take a look at the settings on. That may be most beneficial, I hope.
Part of the overhang battle is orienting the model or breaking it into pieces so that there is minimal overhang as possible.
Shawn you're the best. Those are turning out way too awesome.
