Looking great. Good luck on the vehicle, it's quite a jump in complexity. But don't worry if you feel it's too much, you can take a step back and keep on gaining experience point until you level up enough. But sometimes we face a boss battle we thought we didn't have the levels for and it turns out we win. We just needed that one over-power item we got on that Indiana Jones looking temple.
Thanks! I agree, sometimes diving into the deep end teaches a whole lot more. If anything you find out where you're lacking and move on from there with a direction.
Good! Is it 100% your own or was it following/adapting a tutorial? Curious as to how you did the knurling on the gold wheel as looks like a texture/bump/displacement
No tutorials other than hard surface modelling tutorials from here. I was debating on geometry vs texture for both the microphone mesh and the knurling, and that would have been a good exercise but I kind of wanted to move on from this project so just opted for a texture with bump/displacement. Maybe I can return to it at some point in the future when I'm more experienced :)
Very nice modeling and texturing on this! Well done!
