Hello,
So for the longest time I´ve followed random tutorials about geometry nodes and procedural materials, and I´ve even followed the courses on here, but I´ve never really had that moment when things just click for me when it comes to nodes or textures, even if I understand most of the tutorials I follow.
I guess there´s nothing like figuring things out on your own, so I decided to create my own roadmap with projects I´ll be building from the very basics all the way to more advanced stuff all by myself so that I can finally learn GN and materials once and for all.
This is my first week building small props, assets and materials, and I decided to wrap it up with a miny diorama-like self-contained scene. I already feel way more confident and I definitely could not have built any of this procedurally last week.
Because I basically built this scene only with the things I built this week (plus the clouds), it may not be very coherent (why would there ever be an outdoor library surrounded by wooden fences with a staircase that leads nowhere🤣), but I liked the vibe of it, and it doesn´t have to make sense, it just has to be good practice.
I´ll keep documenting my journey with GN and materials each week, and hopefully I´ll come up with even more complex scenes each week.
Looking cool. Why would there be an outdoor library with wooden fences and a staircase that leads nowhere? Well because a billionaire was one day sitting in his super big house and said, you know what I want, an outdoor library with wooden fences and a staircase that leads nowhere. And he made people built him one.
