Final renders from my project. Just needing to put together a full Ad now. I think this all came together really well. Biggest problem is I just keep having ideas which ends up pushing me in a different direction. So at some point I just need to say this is good enough.
I had heavy help from this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNHDcK8Z2q8 to make the raining code.
The font came from DaFont.
Funny how a little 10 minute modeling idea became a 2 week project and some deep dives into geo nodes I've never used before.
It looks cool with the raining code. My only critique is the code is too bright making it harder to see the pills.
That was one of my struggles for sure with the project. Trying to get the lighting right on the pills. Originally, I had 5 lights on the pills, and one light on the background. When I added the code rain, I actually hid all the lights. Those were my first renders, but I ended up adding two lights back to the scene for the final render as I found the pills were drown out by everything else.
I'll have to do a few more renders with more lights added back in. If I remember correctly the emission on the code is actually pretty low. Like 1 or 2. So I'll have to pump some lights back in and see how It changes the scene.
Thanks for the input though, its always good to get some criticism opposed to just "looks awesome" haha. Can't grow if everything looks awesome.
Turned out cool. But I for one let that thing drive me, if my mind had an idea I just pursue it if I find it cool, doesn't matter if it takes longer or not. But again, that's when it's a privilege I can afford, when it's not client work or anything with a constraint. So many stuff have constraints that when I can just do for the sake of it, I let it flow.
I defiantly ran down that road for awhile. I'll play with it more as time goes by. I have this "problem" if you want to call it that, where I just get so excited over a render or animation that its like, "oh man, everyone needs to see this". This project, I was a touch worried that it may just end up on the pile unfinished projects like so many before it lol. So before I lost interest in all the different ideas I had for it, I figured I should post a "complete" project, before playing with a bunch of other things. I ran pretty deep into the rabbit hole with this project. Adding little things that I figured there was a chance others wouldn't catch. I added dolly zoom to all 3 animations. I was only going to do it with the red pills but I thought it looked pretty good on all three. It didn't quite give the vertigo effect but I think with the code and pills, it sort of worked into the whole otherworldly effects of it all.
Fun project overall though. Was a good exercise in trying to get whats in my head, into a file. Fun rabbit hole of research on geo nodes for the raining code too. Defiantly used some nodes I've never used before. Also started to realize that geo nodes are very similar to general coding which gave me a bit of a AH HA! moment.
