Need noodles? Need super hot water? Need a possible can-do attitude? Hit up Pothead and Noodlehead for all your non-refunable-mostly-tasty-power-punchin' noodle goodness!

Here's my go at the Pothead hardsurface modeling course. I started this back in Febuary, should'a finished it back in Febuary, but instead I got carried away to the other end of the world and back while havin' a right hoot doing it!

A big thanks to the community staff and everyone else who helped me out with guidance and pointers along the way!

@jlampel, i'm not sure if the tag will work, but cheers! This was a brilliant one!
Can't recommend this course enough 🤘🤠🤘

Hot disclaimer: I bought the noodle cups inside the vending machine, stickers, and graffiti packs from Blender Market. I had every intention creating them myself but quickly realised I'd have been here for a million years longer!

I'm chuffed as! Cheers!

  • Bro, you killed it. This is great work. I'm excited to attend this course.

Cheers Derek! I'd definitely recommend it. I'd also emplore you to have a go at creating a companion for Pothead as suggested in the submission criteria page at the end of the course!

It looks challenging, I admit. Some of the exercises in CORE | Fundamentals of 3D Mesh Modeling in Blender have me scratching my head, so modeling something like this is a little intimidating, but your work here is inspiring.

Trust me, you're in good hands with @jlampel as the instructor for this course! But yes, make your way through the Core mesh modelling, perhaps have a go at the materials & shaders, and then the texturing courses too. I felt that the Pothead course was a solid way to round everything up. And if you get stuck on anything, yell out to everyone on the community page - I'll keep a look out for ya!

Wow, Harris! This is a top 3 submission and a well-earned staff pick. I absolutely love the sketchy style, and the color palette you chose fits the theme perfectly. The fun posing is icing on the cake. Huge congrats on not just completing the course but really making it your own as well!

Cheers, Jonathan! Hah, I'm glad you acknowledged the colour palette. I actually added in a photo of noodles to the image editor and colour picked from it. The White is the noodle cup, yellow is the noodles, and the greens and oranges among a few others are the added bits of carrots and herbs etc that you'd usually find in the flavour sachet!

BRILLIANT work, Yeehawcowboyletsgo ! I just emailed you an invitation to our 2024 Student Reel candidate list.

  • Others have already said it, but this looks really great!

  • This right here is exactly what CGCookie wants you to do with a tutorial. Learn from it, take that extra step, and make it your own.....cup of noodles!

You have done what many of us aspire to do. Amazing work.

This means a lot to hear. And it's absolutely something I intend to do with the subsequent courses I take. Cheers Shawn!

  • This looks awesome!
    Good job 😀

    What an amazing result 😍
That one but last shot is my favorite (but all are great!), absolutely brilliant 😃

Thanks Martin! And thanks again for taking the time to rummage through my blend files to help troubleshoot the recent problems I was having! I appreciate it!

  • This project turned out soo cool, Harris. It was well worth the time and effort. Love all the different poses and textures.
I almost feel like that's worth a nomination for a Melvin?

    • Omar Domenech(Dostovel)

Ok ok. I think Harris is going to make more renders with an environment and even animation. Lets see what happens and then we'll talk Melvin.

Thanks, Sascha! Like Omar has just said, my next job is to learn how to rig these bad bots up, and then animate them in an enivornment!

    • Sascha Feider(SFE-Viz)

Awesome. Just thought I'd suggest this for the nomination pool for this year. :)

      Shucks, I'm honoured! Thanks heaps!

  • Omar Domenech(Dostovel)

Yes! It is done! Long time waiting to see the results. Love the render, the poses, the textures, the grittiness. Tremendous job Harris, it was worth all the effort. I bet it will be staff picked and featured all over.

  • Wow, that's really impressive. LOVE IT
