This was for a weekly theme at Polygon Runway. I've been wanting to do something mars themed for a long time and I put some effort into this one! How you guys like it?
Ha ha This is so cool!
You should post it on X (formerly known as Twitter) and tag Elon...
You may be offered a design job or a seat on the first manned flight to Mars to oversee construction.
Thanks Adrian! I just might do that! Will definitely have to rework the lighting and composition first...and I'd really like to either land or launch the rocket and have the terminal tunnel fold or unfold depending on what I want to do. smoke sims, key frames, shape keys?Got some stuff to figure out! but will make it happen!
This is my favorite one of the ones like these you have done. But the library one is still winning in composition, lighting and presentation and feels. This one has a cool factor cuz it's space and space exploration is awesome.
Thanks man! I agree I could have done a few things differently to make this stand out a bit more as I did rush through to the finish line. Roughly 28 hours all in all!

Moe - There's a good CGCookie tutorial with a simple rocket launch that would probably look good with this model/diorama look. https://cgcookie.com/courses/build-and-animate-a-low-poly-rocket-in-blender-for-beginners. I'm mostly thinking of the rocket plume. Your model is well executed. I look forward to any of your updates.
wardred Thanks for that! will check it out
