I really like the painted effect Blender can do. Nice job, definitely worth exploring more, this is an area I want to also delve into but there are so many cool things Blender can do and I want to learn many of them. Keep up the great work!
Dangs that looks awesome Lewis. Love the art style. Is that fully a Blender render all shader based or did you do a ton of post on it on Photoshop to get that look? It's great either way, people think of doing post production as cheating, it's not, it's just another tool.
No photoshop, all done in blender using shader nodes, textures and compositor :)
The new kuwahara filter was the main compositing component that helped achieve that look

Seriously, for some reason, the cup’s (mug’s) material looks like patches of fur to me: was that the intention?
it was sort of intentional but not fully, I wanted there to look like it was painted on canvas, not too sure if it comes across as that or not though :)
