I've been following the "Astray" environmental building course since around late February/ early March and have just now come to a point with it that I am able to show it off. I am so proud of the commitment I have shown to working on this project on a set schedule every week, as putting consistent time towards working in blender has always been one of my biggest downfalls with getting into it. I have 2 renders to show off here that I rendered and put some composition work into thanks to the steps that Kenan shows off towards the end of the course. First render is what I consider to be my final product as its the one I'm most content with and the 2nd one is just a little bonus render I played with a little after Kenan showed off how to use volume scatter to get the beams of light shown in the concept art provided for this project. Huge thank you to Kenan for being an awesome instructor on this course and to the CGCookie staff for being able to provide guidance through the various steps of this course. (And a massive thanks to my 5 year old laptop for not blowing up working on such a graphically intense scene...)
Great job on this! You really nailed the lighting and fog!
Dude I've seen a lot of Astray huts, yours is one of the best. Very nice framing, great atmospheric effect, cool lighting and awesomeness all around. Congrats on beating procrastination and leveling up. This was a boss fight and you beat it. You got new weapons and items and you can move on in your quest.
