Now, with everything smoothed over, etc., it does look better. . . but it had a vertex explosion.
There a re a couple small artifacts with conflicts between solidify, bevel, subsurface, and "sharp edge" loops.
I did not explicitly save my lower poly version. . . and should have. I think I have an auto save that was close. . . but, kids, remember +1 when making major changes!
Ironically, if one doesn't really need he detail, a "10 vertex" outlet with image projection over it looks as good or better than a modeled outlet.
It might not be quite as flexible. . . but the shadows for the socket holes look as good or better than a lot of lighting situations with an actual model.
shegeek - Thank you!
Well done
Thank you Rob!
You got all the details.

The uneven circles for the sockets and in the face plate was bugging me.
Added a circle, snapped some verts, and the result is much better now.
*Pain that fills them up was supposed to be paint that fills them up.

The outlet cover doesn't quite line up.
There's not yet any subtle curves around the socket holes.
Haven't subdivided yet. . . or added the anchoring loops so the harder edges stay hard.
I'm not sure if this is the way, but I cheated the screw holes and made the normals those holes exist in their own objects.
Haven't added in the screws or decided if I'm going to bother with the pain that nearly fills them up.
It was supposed to be a very simple quick thing!
Hah!
