This is my unfinished attempt at a stylised Thunderbird 2 in Blender, based on a sketch I did. Enjoy.
Modelled: 8 Dec 2020.
New Renders: 1 April 2021.
Blender 2.91
vincav81 I don't know that you need to eliminate the glow altogether, just tone it down.
Maybe make it so the dull orange towards the front of the intake is what shows up around the rim of the blades, and make it so the glow doesn't extend much past where it's almost solid orange, or about 1/4 of the way down the intake instead of the whole thing? You'll have to play with it to see what's right, but it can be a little overdone being a sci-fi ship.
The intakes themselves, and the blade geometry look good to me.
@wardredThank you. Yes, it could probably do without the Point Light behind the intake, I think I was just trying to make it look like it's turned on.
I don't know yet if I won't come back to this and start again from scratch and maybe treat more like a car model with separate plates, rather than trying to make a single hull mesh.
It took me a long time to try and get a topology that would work around the intakes. I had planned to texture paint it a bit when I was still working on it, but on reflection I think it would be better if I made the yellow of the intake a separate mesh. Treat it more like a Jumbo jet's engine intake maybe?
Thank you for the comment.
@Vincent I really like this.
The model looks clean, all the curves and flats seem flow properly, particularly along the intakes. Most of the colors look good too.
There does seem like an awfully lot of orange in the intake. I'd expect that much light to be pointed towards the exhaust.

Everything else looks really well done!
Great work here. I loved the design and the green texture! Awesome!
vincav81 @warded sorry forgot to put a space after the @
