I'm new to matte painting and this is my first try to mix 2D with 3D elements. Trying to figure out how to get smooth transitions or how to hide or blend them. Any feedback welcome.
Scatter was used for the ground and fog distribution.
tthe3dbanana with the high points u mean the 3 mountain shapes? these are 2d images cutout.
Only the ground and the fog are 3d elements (well fog is a scattered 2d plane in 3d space)
yeah the horizon line could use some more fog, also the scene is relativele small distance wise. i keep that in mind next time. thanks for feedback.

the question: how exactly did you model the high points? Displace? Hard surface? imported?
the Critique: the only thing here that is messing with my head is that the horizon line is not covered by fog. now this might have been your preference but it kinda makes the fog look fake
