I've been spending the last couple of weeks following the "Let's build a snowman in Blender" course, and then adjusted the finished model to create three different versions that I used as Christmas cards for my parents and brother. There's a couple of places where the materials act up a bit (specifically the hats) but overall I'm very satisfied with how the project turned out, especially considering the deadline of getting it all finished by Christmas! The modifiers and procedural textures definitely helped when adjusting the pose or style of the snowman.
