Small amount of details were added, however it is heading towards the direction I have in mind.
Once I am pleased with the overall silhouette of his face I will use RetopoFlow 3.00.2 for retopology.
Micro details will be added with the Multiresolution Modifier. π
bc_griffin Thank you, Bennie, I'll take care of myself and wish you to stay safe as well π!
duerer You're always welcome Ingmar. Thank you for following along. Take care and please be safe.
bc_griffin Thanks, Bennie, for the explanations π! I'm looking forward to your progress on this model π!
duerer The retopology workflow should be easy. I just need to ensure that I have a good topology flow.
The character might look like it has a lot of details but I assure you that it is quite minimal.
Once the retopology phase is done, I will then salvage the base details from the hi-res model and shape it onto the retopology mesh, using a multiresolution modifier with a subdivision level of 5-6.
Then the fun part starts by adding micro details and generating PBR maps, using Baketool 2.4. (Again this is an addon available on the Blender Market)
Perhaps I should create a time-lapse video showcasing the power of RetopoFlow on this model. It speeds up the entire workflow.
But if you can't wait Jonathan Lampel made a tutorial.
You can still do it the traditional way, but the process is so slow unfortunately...well at least for me.
bc_griffin Thanks for your answer, Bennieπ! This character head is very detailed and I'm wondering how this can be retopologized cleverly. I've already heard of RetopoFlow but I'm not familiar with that addon.
duerer Thank you Ingmar. Please forgive my memory but I can't seem to recall the individual's name, but he/she told me that it looked like Squidward. Not sure who the character is. I'll have to do some research. Thanks again for your feedback.
Really cool work π! It somehow reminds me of an octopus πor a squidπ¦.
