Here's my submission for the Epic Pumpkins 2020 Challenge. My 7yo daughter is terrified of clowns so I thought I'd try to integrate that into my work. She screamed a couple times when she saw me working on it so I think I hit the mark.
I used Kent's live stream, https://cgcookie.com/live_streams/creating-a-procedural-eyeball-material, to learn how to render realistic eyeballs. I just rolled off https://cgcookie.com/course/fundamentals-of-digital-sculpting-blender-2-8 which was really helpful.
And, to demonstrate the ultimate in portability I've transported my pumpkin from his digital sidewalk to my desk. The transit between worlds a bit bumpy and he lost a tooth! (full disclosure, It required a few modifications to print so it wasn't an exact translation, mostly collapsing the interior cavity)
duerer Thanks! I was shooting for wax around the eyes. I was considering having it melting out of the socket but didn't get there.
thirddimension I recently got the Prusa MK3S and I love it! It's a bit pricy, but Blender is free so that evens it out right? :)
@theluthier Thanks! I've become a bit addicted to learning how to do this well. I truly appreciate what I've learned from your tutorials! I need to finish @jlampel's lighting course so I an figure out how to light the scene better :)
@jlampel Thanks! That lumpiness was a happy accident... a little too much inflate and an idea was born! Also, thanks for https://cgcookie.com/course/fundamentals-of-blender-materials-and-shading ! where I learned to blend a little Translucent and Diffuse to make a material light passes through :)
This turned out really well! The lumpy fleshy bits around the eyes is just perfectly scary 👌
Wow, great work here and unique interpretation of a classic jack-o-lantern. The organic mixture of pumpkin and fleshy clown is truly unsettling.
It's clear that you went *all in* on this and your effort pays of. Details galore and I love that you 3D printed it too!
Excellent work and thanks for sharing the courses you've been learning from along the way 👏
Wow you went all out and printed your sculpt very cool! I've been thinking about buying a printer myself.
Great work 👍! Especially these super realistic looking eyes in this white foam-like looking substance illuminated from behind make him look really scary! And you even printed it!
