  • This really looks romantic 😊! Great work 👍! PS: spikeyxxx Could you please pass my address to the dwarfs 😉?!

  • tauson thank you, it loses a bit through the compression, but it still conveys the right atmosphere I think and I am quite happy with the result ;)

  • I love the spirit this work conveys. And thank you for always taking the time to help with advice.

  • spikeyxxx That's cool!! The things you can do with those B&W images! I'm glad I can play with Photoshop; I can probably make a lot of cool patterns for Dynamic Paint use. I only used it once, but what fun! Thanks for sharing the technique with me; I was thinking of using it for my cat project! :D

  • jjazze Thanks!
Those strawberies were a chistmas gift for Snowy White, so the footprints were left by some of the dwarfs, that's why they're so small;)
I just used a black and white image of footprints (one right and one left one, singled out) blurred them a bit. Then painted them on the snow and used that as a Displacement Map.
Because it is snow, I also made a slightly larger version of the prints (that's why I had to separate them out!) and raised the edges a little. This was done on the images, before painting, so I had a black foot with a white outline on a grey background. Blurred of course.
For some cases you can also use Dynamic Paint. Not only for animated scenes, but the 'trail' of a boat in the wate, for instance, is easiest done with DP..

  • Ooooh, I love the sparkling snow! :D What a sweet scene! I've been wanting to create footprints and other "prints" in surfaces with Blender. Do you have any tips??

  • sshanr why? What's wrong with some depth of field?

  • Remove the Blur in the bacground
