After taking both treasure chest courses I wanted to make something with all of my brand new knowledge. This is what I ended up with! I'm not ready to be done with this project yet and am planning to revisit it after I learn more about lighting and rendering. Feedback is extremely appreciated!

sshkyo30 Thank you! Having a candle is such a great idea. And coupled with Matthew's suggestions of including some junk and old boxes I think it would help the space feel more like an attic. Thank you for your feedback! :)

I concur with the feedback below from Matthew and Lionel. A little on the dark side which is good for mood but bad for hiding to much visually. Brightening the moonlight and some volumetric fog + god rays would help keep the mood while also revealing a little more of the scene.
Also I'd love to see some motion blur involved! Unfortunately Eevee doesn't support full motion blur but you can render a vector pass from Cycles at 1 sample and use that with a vector blur node in compositing.
Haha very cool :) . I agree with Lionel, perhaps a little too dark. It would be cool to have maybe some moonlight shining in through the dust to create "god rays" and give a slight hint to what is moving in the room without giving it away too much. It's always tricky getting the effect you are going for - where you want it to be dark enough to scare the viewer because they don't know whats going on, but not have it too dark so that it is a bit boring to look at.
Another idea could be to have the camera weave through a maze of old boxes and junk, lit with candles as Lionel said , and you can hear the chest but not see it until suddenly it jumps over a box and into view. That way you could light the scene better and add more items of interest without giving the game away.
Just a few thoughts , but really great work and great to see someone use their new knowledge on a project of their own - that's what it's all about!
It's a very good start! Very funny! Maybe it's a little bit too dark, perhaps you can add a small light (like a candle) to the right or left. It's not necessary to see it, just a glow can be enough I think...
But I liket it!
