Hey ho, an improvement over my last project in my opinion. Quite simple but still a tad challenging for my skill level (aka novice). Finally started to do my own textures, albeit overwhelming basic, but it's a start. Plus doing silly doodles in GIMP was a lot more fun than it should've been. Criticisms are appreciated as always and thanks for viewing.
Forgot to mention the floor texture was taken from www.poliigon.com.
pffsfs Yeah this was my first time using DoF and I want a tad overboard, plus their materials are pretty bad, granted. Materials can be very tricky, but when you begin to understand them it can be great, definitely give them a try! Thanks for the feedback!
I love this. The only thing I would say (other than what's been said about the perfection of the crayons)... the crayons really jump out at you in this. Everything else feels very real then all of a sudden it "HEY I'M A CRAYON HERE!!!" I haven't gotten to adding material or texture, but my guess is maybe the hardness might be a bit high. Otherwise like I said, love this.
really cute!
williamatics gothicbunny Oops forgot to tag you guys not sure if you'd see my comment otherwise, sorry!
Thanks for the feedback guys, definitely had a nagging feeling during rendering that the crayons could be improved. I certainly see what you mean about things looking a little flat too, possibly could be fixed with extensive materials/shading (maybe a little sculpting as well)? Wanted to
make the paper look more realistic but I wasn't too sure how (I did actually add bent edge to one of them but it's seems to be impossible to see in the final render haha). Looking forward to finding out!
This looks good. The crayons are a bit too pointy. Unused have a flat tip and used should have some sort of wear on the tip. The table/floor texture is good but the paper crayons and cup look a little flat. Still a very cute picture though.
My criticism is that the crayons look too perfect. There should at least be a tear in the paper.
