My latest 'Weekly Challenge' on the topic of 'Time Machine'.
After a bit of reference searching I decided to use the Large Hadron Collider as concept for my machine. I structured my time on this challenge so that I had strict limits on how long I would spend on each bit. This has had a good impact on my workflow and I finished a couple of days quicker than I normally would. Still struggle on the lighting but I used a new (to me) method of rendering out the scene multiple times with the individual lights then compositing in Photoshop. This got over my usual issue of waiting long rendering times to see tiny changes in my lighting.
llordgert Maybe... just MAYBE, I'll be as good as you in a few months of trying random things out with my scenes. You're stuff is really cool.
@cgcookiedough Thanks! To be honest it has taken months of trying things out and trial and error. Ultimately it saves loads of time but any tutorials tend to assume a decent amount of knowledge already. Learning that your 'final render' was only the first step to finishing a picture has made a huge difference... still not sure if I'm doing it the 'right' way yet
btw, I only learned that compositing was a thing last week, so yeah...
How did you learn ow to composite? IT LOOKS EPIC!!! I want to be able to do that with my own work.
