I was thinking of a concept that could work in low pressure environments like space, but would still be tactical for handing battles, and emergency situations.
I blocked it out in Zbrush first. I went too detailed with the sculpting pass given that I knew I was going to use sub-D modelling. But I used this project to practice sculpting. I ended up changing a few of things during sub-D modelling, re-topo, and rigging. I got a change to apply some new techniques I learned about sculpting, modelling, and texturing.
This all spawned from Kent’s Robot modelling course, this was the same exact workflow.
baukepost Did a quick update on the animation. You were right, and it was a little embarrassing. Its definitely not perfect still, but don't think i'm going to push it further though, considering this was a hard surf modelling project, and not an animation project.
baukepost yeah I didn't spend alot of time on that. i'll update it.
Outstanding sculpting, retopology and texturing! The animation looks a bit weird though, his upper body doesn't seem to be moving.
