The inspiration for this piece is Markus the Ratslayer, a character from The Master and Margarita, by Mikhail Bulgakov.
Markus is Pilate's battle numbed and obedient personal guard. At the crucifixion, he is in charge of the soldiers keeping order on Golgotha. Here, he looks up at Jesus on the cross and considers a simple question.

az93 this is the first time that I've done this process. I have sculpted some little things before but only have made two molds that have worked out. The first was about 40 years ago, It was with the lost wax process with a piece that I sculpted in wax, so only one bronze copy exists. The other one is the little cowboy on the book. He was done with a box mold, so I can make a lot of copies of him.

But it turned out O.K.
Lots of mistake were made.
Shined up with 0000 steel wool. Been wax rubbed on, then off.
Green wax. Rubbed on, rubbed off.
