So I am working on the messy room exercise and my 5 year old walks by and says "Wow that's messy!" so I though 'I must be on the right track' and ran a test render to see how it looked rendered. And...
This is what I see!!!! what happened, the preview looks fine but in the render the shirts and blankets exploded! What did I do wrong?
Turns out it was the Subsurf, having the view at 1. So when I baked the scene it only baked for 1 sub division, so when I rendered it only had 1 data set to use. or something like that. that I guess is why part of the mesh moved and not the other.
Hmm. Have you tried re-doing your uv maps?
Also, are you using any normals/bumps in your material nodes?
Well disabling the cloth sim just makes everything hang in space, disabling the subsurf just makes things look like piles of broken glass. still all scrambled just not stretched too.
If you remove your modifiers, do you get the same effect?
Besides Cloth sim those objects only have the Subsurf modifier. 1 level in view and 2 for render, that's it.
Weird! A few things that come to mind:
Are all of your scales applied?
Are you using a displacement modifier?
Are you using the Experimental settings for "Micro-displacements?"
If none of those are the cause, what modifiers do these objects have?
Hey. Looks cool! =)
Maybe you forgot to apply the scale?(ctrl+A)
