Thanks. The volumetrics is basically a cube with a smoke material (https://cgcookie.com/archive/blender-2-71-overview-of-new-features/ - the 'cycles-smoke-fire' chapter), and scaled so the whole scene is inside it. I rendered it on a separate layer (with the buildings etc. as a mask) and then composited it later so I could have a bit more control over the density and colour.

Nicely done! How did you achieve the volumetric lighting effect through the chapel window?
