This is a simple apple. I spent much time with a reference photo to try and master shaders. this apple uses several nodes, including subsurf scatter and layer weights to get more effect on the outside edges. The apple itself was not a concern to getting it the exact shape of an apple
yeah. I painted the diffuse onto a uv map.
Procedural shader uses math and the object geometry to generate the textures. Did you paint onto a uv map from the object. Excellent work. Thank you for the additional information.
I don't think so. I'm not sure I know what a procedural shader is. I hand painted the diffuse shader using a real apple as a stencil. then I added other shaders to effect the skin like a real apple.
