Thankyou :) I still have a lot to learn so I dont know much about some of the things you mentioned yet but I will soon enough. Much appreciated, keep up the good work :)
I'm excited to hear you like it! I really enjoy believable cartoons and stop motion so I do my best to blend realistic elements, such as materials and sometimes lighting with cartoon elements, such as generally cartoony models and again sometimes lighting. Lighting is key in creating a moody or atmospheric render. For the look of my images I often reference vintage photographs, Here's some of the things I've noticed help replicate the effect. Chromatic aberration, I usually use a bit more if this than strictly necessary but you want to be carefull not to over do it. I usually crank up the lense distortion a bit. Monotone colors, I usually desaturated the colors in my scene so that they work together a bit better and appear to be washed out. Usually to wrap it up I useung a film grain and a heavier vignette to darken up the edges.
One of the most important things honestly is to make sure not to overdo it, with a lot of these things It's easy to get carried away.
I love the atmosphere you always manage to capture with your renders, I always seem to end up with renders that arent moody or atmospheric. Would you be so kind as to give me a few pointers or tips to how you acheive your style? I dont want to rip it off or anything, just get an idea of how I can give that sort of feel to some of my renders. Keep up the good work :)
Thanks!
Looks cool!
That's really cool! The lighting's great and the metal material is great, I wonder how you did that! :)
