Thought I would try out the making of
a frosty leaf. Was walking buy a lake the
other day and saw a frozen leaf lying on the
Ice. I thought I should try to make that in
Blender. So here it is. Hope you like it.
Thank you :D
Brian, care to share some info on how the frost was made? I played a bit last night with the particle system and various material node setups and couldn't even come close. This would be a GREAT image for a tutorial if you're up for it sometime.
Attn, Spacedistrict: Here's a short tutorial on how to do the ice material node setup that Brian described:
http://www.creativeshrimp.com/how-roughness-can-change-the-way-we-think-about-materials.html
The node set up was really easy. All it consists of are a glosy node with a texture of your pick pluged into the roughness inpup. In this case I made one in Photoshop. When you get that done just grab a rgb curve and place it between the two so you can adjust the amount of gloss in your ice.
Realy nice idea and it looks great, but can you tell me whats the water material setup, because its my favorite in this image.?
Thank-you I appreciate the feedback. I'm glad you like it.
Very well done and very photorealistic. I'm impressed! Hope to see a lot more from you.
