Rendered with Cycles (originally 1080p with 1024 samples) in Blender 2.75.
This is a mechanical keyboard model I've been working on, based on the Corsair Vengeance K70. I still need to model the switches underneath the keycaps and a few of the body details. While modeling this, I tried to automate as much as possible with Python, so that it would be easy to tweak the layout or keycap styles.
The keycaps themselves are laid out by a particle system, and the keycap material uses the particle ID to shift each face's UVs across a single texture with all of the keycap symbols. The whole setup feels kind of delicate, but works surprisingly well.
Thanks! I'm really happy with how it's coming out so far.
Nice! Looks almost like in real life!
