This is the green iteration of this concept, modelled inside Blender in order to test out the complete UV, texture paint and Shading process in Blender 2.71. Happy with the results and amazed by what's possible by staying entirely in Blender.
Thank you, Kent. You were a big inspiration and a guiding light when feeling my way through the workflow in Blender. It was refreshing to stay simply within one programme for the whole process. I just need to make my texture atlas workflow a little more elegant. My next task is to see if I can use some of this workflow and apply it to game assets, with Cycles baking. Wish me luck!
