Little recent history lesson here for those who haven't had days to pour over BA posts! Not long ago Agus3D coded Ray-Length for the Lightpath Node in Cycles. This was so awesome and desperately needed that it was committed to trunk within minutes I hear. He made a good effort at making a Shader with it and with a little assistance from Niabot laid the groundwork. Mattebb laid a foundation on top of that and gave us a better Shader format and once again Niabot came to the rescue and cleaned it up and made it all understandable! With what I have learned I think I may have improved on the idea myself...at any rate we finally have controllable translucency! This model is a medium poly Lucy model that apparently originates from the Standford Scanning Repository. I got it from Agus3D's Blog, but I'm not using the Shaders that came with it.
