I did this for my best-mates wife as she is a really big Stargate fan.
The main ring was done in blender, the glyphs(symbols around the ring) were made in Bryce then exported back into Blender.
The ring was then imported and rendered in Terragen, and the planet was made from scratch in Terragen.
The stars and nebular were composited with Blender.
