This character concept art for a children's book is the first image I've done on a tablet instead of with a mouse, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. It's actually a repaint of the original which came out okay but ordinary looking. After devouring all of Tim's excellent CG Cookie Concept Youtube videos on light, shadow, and bending color, I was able to really amp up the whimsy factor (or at least I hope so!). It actually looks nice with the line art removed as well, surprisingly. I'm super excited to start repainting all of my others now.
