The creation came to life shortly after the Blender Guru "Futuristic Vehicles" competition went live.
I imagined a pontoon type vehicle that would intake carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide and process the carbon elements through a reverse osmosis catalytic inverter. The carbon atoms would be split in order to fuel the engine that drives the turbines and paddles. The exhaust pipes spew oxygen.
In order to make the waves and wake, I subdivided the mesh behind the vehicle and used the knife tool to shape the outward splaying waves. Then I raised and lowered certain vertices. I took that same portion of mesh, separated it and extruded downward so I has some volume to work with for my bubble particles. It's not perfect, but it is a start.
The smog has particles using a group of smog objects. The volume Scatter was too bright when shining a light through it hence the particle system.
