I think this is a nice example on how Blender can be used for commercial applications. Creating the branding for a meeting room at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona Feb 2014 I needed to check weather my design would work in reality. The option was to put branded panels on a stock provided room with a bicarbonate panel for the logo mount, a fabric large panel (2.70m high) and some normal other panels. I quickly remodeled the meeting room in actual size within Blender and used Cycles for a physics rendering that gave me good visuals on how the materials would behave. I could have checked the sizes etc. with a split blueprint view, but working the details turned out to be much easier and convenient in Blender. I mapped the designs as textures to the panels. For the appearance within an exhibition show hall I simply used an HDRI image map of a large hall which also formed a quick background. This was not intended to be a final model, but the application for design checks is really great.
