I used Blender and Blenders internal renderer, just keeping things very simple I used the built in cloud texture to create the leather look, the mud and the fur lineing of the boots, I used Gimp to tile a photo I took of the grass in our garden for the grass effect.
Normal mapped everything I could get my hand on, I think it just give a slight realism to a toonish pair of boots.
Two lights, 1 being a sun light, slightly orange/yellow and a blueish point light to the left. As you can see the right boot is just a copy of the left, the reason for this is I got lazy :) .... took about 3 hours total to make.
