Based on one of the earlier illustrations of the titular "War of the Worlds" Tripod. I wish Steven Spielberg had made his adaption closer to the time the book was set in. (I know there was an adaption made in the fifties, but that was also updated for it's time).
I nearly dropped the scene and posted the Tripod on its own, until I pressed alt-H and found the extra road that was messing it up.
No UV maps were used during texturing - just a bunch of flat and box maps. And some volumetrics.
If there are things in the image that appear off to you, freely tell me about them. The front tripod, for example, appears as if it were put in front of a greenscreen.
