So, my six-year-old daughter was very impressed with the new Star Wars teaser, and she was inspired to make some "starships" (her chosen word) out of her Duplo set. I took her designs and more-or-less faithfully recreated them in Blender to mimic the Millenium Falcon and TIE fighter still shot from the teaser.
She was very impressed.
Blender 2.72b for the modeling, Cycles rendering; some post work in After Effects (Optical Flares, Magic Bullet Looks); L3DT for the heightfield map and desert texture for the terrain.
