Terrain created in Unity 3D using the addon Terrain Toolkit.
Skybox created as six images in Bryce 3D and imported as assests into Unity 3D. (Texture rendering in Bryce at Ultrafine quality and 1024 pixel images - approx 90 minutes rendering time.)
A duplicate of the skybox "floor" image was made to tile seamlessly then used as the terrain texure in Unity.
The final image was an "in game" render using a C# script.
Inspiration: the barren terrains around the slate mines/quarries of Blaenau Ffestiniog
